The preservatives as bad as PARABENs are Phenoxyethanol, Propylene Glycol, Methyl Isothiazolinone. You will probably see these in 98% of the skin care or hair care products out there. Why? Because they are super powerful chemical preservatives and extremely cheap to use. Unfortunately, they are neurotoxins and estrogen disruptors that can create a critical health issue with a long-term use.

The TRUTH of Vitamin C serum
If you see any C serum that are colored in yellow to amber, that means it is oxidized (not active anymore) or the artificial color is added. L-Ascorbic Acid or C-Esters are naturally translucent or transparent without any color until they get oxidized.
Premium grade Vitamin C or Ferulic Acid themselves DO NOT have an odor. If you detect an orange scent, it is due to added fragrance. Any metallic or burning smell can be attributed to the oxidation of L-Ascorbic Acid specifically.
If it gives you tingling sensation or tight feeling, it is from the Triethanolamine (Ammonia and Alcohol derivative), which 99% of the serums with L-Ascorbic Acid use it to lower its pH level to stabilize the serum.
